About

Studio Hanna Springer reimagines Buffalo homes to create beautiful and interesting interiors.

A moody living room vingette with incense burner

Drawing on the concept of sensory bliss that inspired me as a child, I believe that color, pattern, texture, and light have the ability to transform our mood and transport us into new worlds. Many of us remember feeling excited about rearranging our bedrooms as kids; maybe fewer of us meticulously arranged guest towels as a seven-year-old when their grandparents came to visit. Design has brought me happiness — and transformation — for many years.

The arts & crafts catalog homes that are deeply familiar in my home city of Buffalo are undeniably beautiful, but challenging to decorate in a way that marries historical relevance with personality. Sometimes the sole factor in making these homes stand out from one another is decor. My design style is moody, lush, and thoughtful and I enjoy finding creative ways to incorporate these qualities into a home.

Beautiful spaces are achievable without overspending. Design should be accessible, and I believe strongly there is always something that can be done to make a space look and feel better. Unbothered by trends and strict design rules, my design intuition carefully considers budget and architecture, then gently rests something new and refreshing on top.
